Sewage Inspections Required

 

You have been issued a permit to construct an on lot sewage disposal system within this municipality.  Notice to begin construction is required by the sewage enforcement office.  Inspections and approvals are required during construction phases.  Please read the following list of requirements carefully.

 

 

1)  72 HOURS MINIMUM NOTICE FOR START OF CONSTRUCTION AND ALL INTERIM AND FINAL INSPECTIONS

 

2)  First Inspection: Chisel plow, six-inch depth maximum.

 

3)  Second Inspection: SAND – have tear slips showing total amount of sand installed, along with DOT certification from supplier of the sand used.

 

4)  Third Inspection: Pressure Test – be sure pump installed meets design criteria.  Have electricity supplied to fire the pump and produce 3’ minimum head at highest lateral end.

 

5) Final Inspection: call when the bed is covered, seeded and mulched. Alarm must be audible on the exterior of the home, or someone must be there to allow access.
